Babybay what do you need? Guide to Babybay

It can be a bit of a jungle to find your way around all of Babybay's products.

Follow these 7 simple steps and find the bedside crib and accessories that suit your needs. (The guide is online only and cannot be purchased).

Step 1: Measure the height of your bed

Start by measuring the height of the adult bed (from the floor to the top of the top mattress).

If the adult bed is under 53 cm, Original and Maxi are probably for you, and if the bed is over 53 cm, then look at the Babybay Boxspring and XXL beds.

Step 2: Choose Babybay bed

See the differences between our 5 Babybay beds below.

Original : Low and narrow. Is relatively small and nice and fits well if you live in a small place. The baby can fit the bed until they are 9 months old. Has won "Best in test".

Maxi : Low and wide. Is wider than Babybay Original and if you have the space, I would choose it alone because the child gets a little more space and because the baby can fit in the bed until they are 14 months old.

Boxspring (popular) : Tall and wide. For those who have a high parent bed (over 53cm). The Babybay Boxspring is both tall and wide without being anywhere near as bulky as a cot. The baby can use the bed until they are 14 months old.
Boxspring Comfort Plus: High and wide. Similar to the Boxspring bed, but comes with a grid that is permanently mounted on the Babybay bed.

XXL : Tall and extra wide and long. Is the largest of the Babybay beds. The child can fit the bed until they are 20 months old and you can buy an extra high grille for it, so the bed can stand on its own and be used as a cot.

Step 3: Choose a mattress

A good mattress should be temperature-regulating, moisture-absorbent and have high air circulation. Read briefly about the differences between our Babybay mattresses below.

Foam mattress (basic) : Classic foam mattress. It is nice and reasonably firm and the foam is soft enough that the mattress feels nice to lie on.
Kapok mattress (Good): Kapok is temperature-regulating, hypoallergenic, organic and sustainable. The mattress is quite firm, which is recommended for babies, but some are for it and others are not.
Cold foam mattress (Very good) : Mattress made of HR (high resistant) cold foam and with organic, GOTS certified cover. The advantages of a cold foam mattress are that it is wonderfully soft to lie on and it is hypoallergenic, moisture-absorbent and has good air circulation.
Kapok mattress LUX (Premium): Kapok is temperature-regulating, hypoallergenic, organic and sustainable. This kapok LUX mattress has more filling and therefore feels softer than the regular kapok mattress.
Coconut mattress with wool (Premium) : Made from nature's best materials. Natural coconut mattress with organic, GOTS certified wool and cotton cover. The mattress is breathable, hypoallergenic and temperature-regulating.
Intense AngelWave (Premium): This is the cream of the cream and it is Babybay's most exclusive mattress, which is temperature-regulating, moisture-absorbing and has high air circulation.

Many also choose to add a roll-up mattress .

Step 4: Select layers

Most people buy 2-3 sheets for their bedside crib.

I also recommend purchasing a waterproof mattress protector to protect the mattress from moisture and accidents.

Step 5: Choose the bed frame

You can choose to decorate the baby bed with a lovely, soft bed skirt. The bed skirt also protects the child from hard impacts on the edge of the bed.

Some people choose to buy a bed skirt from Liewood or Konges Sløjd for their Babybay, even if it is too long. Then they simply fold it around, like in the picture below, where the bed skirt is folded around the end up against the wall.

Step 6: Decorate and enjoy

Canopy: If you want to create a light and airy den for your baby, you can choose to add a canopy. It is only available in one size for all Babybay models. Most canopies are mounted on Babybay's rocking chair.
Bed pocket : I can recommend a cute and practical bed pocket to keep track of pacifiers, baby toys, cuddly toys or other small items. We have them in several patterns.
Bedding: We have one solid selection of beautiful baby bedding, if I do say so myself.
Cradle holder : You can also give your baby something to look at when they are lying in bed. The cradle holder is available in several colors and we have a large selection of cradles .

Step 7: Do you need any additional practical accessories?

Do you need other accessories?

Side piece. If you want to make sure that your baby doesn't roll out of the Babybay bed, you can add a side piece.

Wheels . Put wheels on your Babybay and easily roll it from room to room or from one side of the adult bed to the other. The wheels fit all Babybay models. Find the wheels here.
Bed extension . If you have a wide edge on your parent's bed, you can use the bed extension to avoid the gap between the Babybay bed and the parent's bed. Find the extension piece for Original here and for Maxi & Boxspring here
Extra mounting kit with straps. This kit is included with the Babybay Boxspring and XXL, but if you have one of the low beds and can't get the L-hooks to work for your parent's bed, you can purchase this kit. Find the kit here.
Extra mounting kit with L-Hooks. These hooks are included with Babybay Original and Maxi, but if you have one of the high beds and can't get the included straps to work with your parent's bed, you can purchase this set of L-hooks. Find the set here.
