Cold use
Place the bag in the freezer or deep freezer for about 2 hours.
Use and effect: Local pain relief. Reduces swelling and relieves inflammation. Place the frozen bag in one of the included cotton wraps and place it directly on your abdomen to relieve swelling and pain associated with tears and stitches. If you are bleeding heavily, you can place the bag on top of a large postpartum pad. Wash the cotton wrap after use.
Hot use
Place the bag in hot – not boiling – water (max. 80°C) for approx. 3 minutes or heat the bag in the microwave. Wrap the bag in a damp cloth or cloth diaper and heat for 15 seconds at max. 700W or for 10 seconds at max. 1000W. If a higher temperature is desired, reheat the bag for a further 5 seconds. Place the bag in the wrapper before use. Press the bag lightly so that the heat is distributed evenly. NOTE: Never put a frozen bag in the microwave – it must thaw first.
Use and effect: Local stimulation of blood circulation, antispasmodic. Use it to relieve breast inflammation. Place the hot bag in the cotton wrap and place it on your breast where you experience tension or swelling. The hot bag can also be used on the stomach or lower back when you have after-partum contractions.
Can also be used on cesarean sections – hot or cold – to soothe swelling and relieve pain.
For external use only. Always place a piece of cloth between the bag and the skin. Do not use for longer than 20 minutes at a time, followed by a break of approximately 30 minutes.
NOTE: Never use bag directly on the skin. Use only the bag with the cover. Read the instructions on the bag carefully before using it.
